Easy 3D

Information for the patient

What imaging tests should I perform for the three-dimensional diagnosis?
Ideally, a cone beam computed tomography also known as CBCT or dental CT should be performed. It offers us radiation levels 10 to 15 times lower than helical or medical tomography. In addition, with current devices, it can be performed with radiation levels equivalent to three panoramic radiographs. She offers us the information of all the craniofacial structures with a single X-ray that can be used by different professionals (general dentist, implantologist, surgeon, orthodontists) without the need to take other additional X-rays.
Why should I do a three-dimensional diagnostic exam?
The possibility of having an imaging exam that allows us to see the entire craniofacial complex three dimensionally offers a better understanding of the patient’s problem. Its main advantages compared to conventional radiographs is that we will be able to see all the structures without any type of overlap, as well as we will be able to make real measurements without the distortion that characterizes two-dimensional radiographs. Therefore, we will have a more accurate and complete diagnosis of the patient.
Do I have to do any preparation before the exam?
No prior preparation by the patient is recommended. Earrings, necklaces, and removable prostheses will need to be removed prior to image acquisition so that they do not produce image artifacts.
How is the test and how long does it last?

In the case of dental tomography (CBCT) the duration of the acquisition is LESS THAN 1 MIN. Depending on the scanner used, the patient will remain standing or sitting for the image acquisition.

– No caso da tomografia médica (helicoidal), o tempo de aquisição é muito maior (<20 min aproximadamente) e o paciente deve se deitar.

Frequently asked questions

What are the files and recommendations to request the Easy 3D protocol?
  • DICOM files (.dcm) of the total skull tomography
  • Extraoral photos (frontal, smile and right profile)
  • Intraoral photographs (front and right and left side)
  • Occlusal photos (upper and lower)

Important remarks:

  • Export of Compacted Multislice / Medical Tomography DICOM (.dcm) files: slices of a maximum of 1mm or less. 512 X 512 matrix
  • Export of Dental Tomography DICOMs (cone beam) files – 0.4 mm voxel • We do not perform analysis from incomplete tomography. That is, it must include the entire region from the glabella to the hyoid, from the nose to the ear, and especially the TMJ. Also, the patient MUST be in Maximum intercuspidation (closed mouth). See Export of Dental Tomography DICOMs (cone beam) files – 0.4 mm voxel • We do not perform analysis from incomplete tomography. • Do not use supports that alter or compress the soft tissue in the tomography, such as chin rest, occlusal positioner, forehead band, auricular positioner. See the example here.
Is it possible to order EASY 3D protocols directly, without the intermediary of the radiology clinic?

Yes, it is possible for the healthcare professional. To do this, simply register on our portal and send us the tomography files (dicom) and the patient’s photos.

For more information about the processes to request the EASY 3D Protocol, contact us or contact our call center by email contato@easy3d.com.br or whatsapp: +55 (61) 9 9417-2443.

Can I perform the CT scan in a clinic that only has a medical CT scanner?

Yes. Ask the radiology clinic, after performing the CT scans, to export the files in compacted multislice format: slices of 1 mm maximum or less. 512 X 512 matrix.

In some cases the medical radiology clinic does not send us the files (they deliver a CD / DVD to the patient) in these cases, the patient must send us these files, if you have any difficulties contact our call center +55 (61) 3222-6363 , whatsapp: +55 (61) 9 9417-2443 or email contato@easy3d.com.br.

How to prepare for the CT?

The patient should keep the mouth closed without interfering with the bite (Maximum habitual intercuspation, MIH). Do not use accessories such as earrings, piercings, any type of device that interferes with the maximum intercuspidation, except occlusion registration or a guide made by the requesting dentist. (Wax records are not allowed because its thickness interferes with the analysis)
